The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is an organization whose mission is to influence the development
of Canadian youth to become excellent citizens through programs which provide education,
recreation, leadership skills, and aviation exposure. Air Cadets provides youth between the ages
of 12 and 18 the opportunity to participate in mandatory training with no fees; however,
fundraising allows the squadron to offer additional programs such as biathlon, effective speaking,
marksmanship, drone piloting, band, etc. The goal of the St. Albert Air Cadets 533 Squadron is to
develop programs that will promote citizenship, physical fitness, and positive role models within
each generation.
The Friends of 533 Squadron Society, a fundraising committee for the St. Albert Air Cadets, is
responsible for providing funds to help support the additional programs, scholarships, and needs
of the squadron not covered by our partnerships with the Department of National Defense, the Air
Cadet League of Canada, and our sponsoring committee with the St. Albert Lions.
One of our largest fundraisers is a Pub Night that will be held Friday, February 10th, 2023, at the
Thirsty Rooster, a local restaurant in St. Albert. The fundraising component of our Pub Night will
largely come from raffles and a silent auction with items and donations from the greater
community of the St. Albert Cadets. In response to this letter, we invite you to make a donation
for our raffles or silent auction that would support the programs for over 100 youth from St. Albert,
Edmonton, and the surrounding areas.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope you will be able to help us create a wonderful and fun evening.
Any parents, Guardians, Friends that would like to donate items for the auction please contact Amanda at friendsof533@gmail.com. We do have a letter if you need that you can pick up at Administration on Thursday nights.
