We have more points to order uniforms so please make sure that you re-measure yourself and send in your uniform measurements' so we can get you set up with a appointment to pick up your uniform.

Calling our Parents & Volunteers

Spring 2021 Modified Bottle Drive

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we have modified our semi-annual bottle drive to maintain proper social distancing procedures.

We are looking for volunteers on Saturday May 8, 2021 to drive around the Grandin and Heritage Lakes area and collect bags of refundables which will be left at curbside for us. These will need to be dropped off at the Riel Bottle Refund Depot where the employees will sort the items and credit us for this very important fundraiser.

Volunteer drivers will meet Mr. Carignan at the St. Albert Community Hall at 10 am to receive their map and instructions. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Carignan at carignan@shaw.ca

Start times are 10:00 or 1:00.  We need parents to drive up and down streets to grab bags of bottles/recyclables left out side.  

We are NOT asking cadets or parents to go up to the house or knock on doors.  

We ONLY need the bottles left outside pick up and dropped off at the Reil Bottle Depot - make sure to say they are for St. Albert Air Cadets. 

Please note that this is not a cadet activity and is an adult volunteer opportunity. You can bring helpers at your discretion and responsibility.

Monthly Challenges

March Challenge was Fitness Month. 

As a Squadron we took on a Virtual Challenge to walk thru Alberta - because Alberta is Simply awesome! We were challenged by level to beat the Command Team; Three people, should be easy right; WRONG!!!! Our Command Team kept up with the Squadron in a absolutely fantastic showing.  Well here are the results....

We all started in Maligne Lake, then we all made it into the Columbia Icefield's.  Some of us even made it down to Dinosaur Provincial Park.

Congratulations to Level 2 for leading the way.

Mar 25th, 2021 - Announcements

We have our Optional Training will resume after Spring Break, Check Google Classroom for the Meeting ID's, and passwords to join. We will have a few events going over Spring Break if you would like to Join.

  • Effective Speaking Squadron Competition
    • This is OPEN to all Cadets and/or Parents on 31 March 2021 @ 1830 hrs
  • WO2 Lien and FCpl McDowell will be speaking at this year's Squadron Speak-Off Competition. Both of them have been preparing and practicing since October 2020 and they are looking forward to delivering their speeches.  This is an open invitation to all cadets, parents, and family to attend the Zoom meeting and watching WO2 Lien and FCpl McDowell speak off against each other. Please arrive early so that we can all start on time.

    This event is being hosted by our Squadron Sponsor, the St. Albert Host Lions Club.

Cadet Activity Program at home is happening March 29 to April 9. Monthly Challenges

March Challenge is Fitness as a Squadron to take a Virtual Challenge to walk thru Alberta - Alberta is Simply awesome! A Canadian province with a rich heritage and home to some of this beautiful country’s most impressive scenery. From the prairies to spectacular mountains dotted with stunning glacial lakes. No wonder millions of people visit it every year. SO we are going to explore it Virtually as your level reaches certain milestones achievement's based on your step counts and activities that you do thru the week. We are using a program called World Walking to track everyone's steps and activities to walk from Maligne Lake, going thru Columbia Icefield's, down to Dinosaur Provincial Park. Then over to the Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, over to Waterton Lakes National Park, down to Head-Smashed in Buffalo Jump. A quick jump over into Canmore, Banff and finishing in Lake Louise. Our total trek will be a combined total of 2,452,722 steps which will be 1,682.08 kms.

Fitness Month Challenge - Each level is going to be competing against the other levels and the Commanding Officer, the Deputy Commanding Officer, and our Training Officer. Send your activities thru the Google Classroom posts so that your Level can be credited. All activities need to be summited with the Activity Name, time spent, and date. They also do not have to be from this list.

    • If you are using the World Walking App/Website please ONLY enter your steps. Report your other activities in Google Classroom so that they can be converted to steps.

Cadet Activity Program (CAP) at Home - 29 Mar to 9 Apr 2021 - Various Times

- You will need to ensure that you have a water bottle and a snack.

We are bringing you 9 days filled with fun activities and exciting presentations. Hot off the press is the schedule of what is planned. Check it out - there is something for everybody!

Monthly Challenges

March Challenge is Fitness as a Squadron to take a Virtual Challenge to walk thru Alberta - Alberta is Simply awesome! A Canadian province with a rich heritage and home to some of this beautiful country’s most impressive scenery. From the prairies to spectacular mountains dotted with stunning glacial lakes. No wonder millions of people visit it every year. SO we are going to explore it Virtually as your level reaches certain milestones achievement's based on your step counts and activities that you do thru the week. We are using a program called World Walking to track everyone's steps and activities to walk from Maligne Lake, going thru Columbia Icefield's, down to Dinosaur Provincial Park. Then over to the Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, over to Waterton Lakes National Park, down to Head-Smashed in Buffalo Jump. A quick jump over into Canmore, Banff and finishing in Lake Louise. Our total trek will be a combined total of 2,452,722 steps which will be 1,682.08 kms.

Fitness Month Challenge - Each level is going to be competing against the other levels and the Commanding Officer, the Deputy Commanding Officer, and our Training Officer. Send your activities thru the Google Classroom posts so that your Level can be credited. All activities need to be summited with the Activity Name, time spent, and date. They also do not have to be from this list.

    • If you are using the World Walking App/Website please ONLY enter your steps. Report your other activities in Google Classroom so that they can be converted to steps.

Survival Month Challenge by Level - Each level is required to come up with a Survival themed challenge.  These challenges will be presented by Level on the last Thursday of the month (Feb 25th, 2021).  Make sure that your idea's are submitted to F/Sgt Van Bostelen.

Monthly Challenges

Survival Month Activities - We have scheduled some activities and challenges for Survival Month.

Survival Month Challenge by Level - Each level is required to come up with a Survival themed challenge.  These challenges will be presented by Level on the last Thursday of the month (Feb 25th, 2021).  Make sure that your idea's are submitted to F/Sgt Van Bostelen.

Some examples are …

- Build a Shelter
- Build a site plan
- Design a Survival Scenario
- Work out a Survival Plan with your Level

The Sky is the limit.  We look forward to seeing what you have come up with.

Summer training whether is is hosted at the Virtual CTC, In person, or you are applying to be a Staff Cadet, you need to submit a application to the Commanding Officer. Please see more information on the Summer Training Page

Virtual Paint Afternoon

Come and join us on Zoom Feb 15th @ 1300 hrs to paint with us.  We are painting the "Northern Lights" with Artist Jesse Robertson.  Check Google Classroom for the Zoom invite and information.

We are missing some Detailed Health Questionnaires'.  These were last sent out on Nov 25th, 2020.  These are important documents that are specific to each person.  We will post the names in Google Classroom, please check there if you are not sure if you need to fill one out.

Does your Uniform fit?  Do you have a Uniform? Please look at the video on our Measuring Your Uniform page of how to size your uniform and fill in the request sheet. Email it to us and we will get working on it and contact you when it is ready.  We have started to receive many uniform parts, so send us those measurements, and we will get to work.

Calling all Level 5's

We have information on the Level 5 Workshop.  This is for all Level 5 cadets that have not previously attended a Level 5 workshop.  This will be held Virtually February 27-28, 2021, 0745 - 1230 hrs each day. Those that are registered you have been emailed your joining instructions.

Community Service Project

Each year, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) invites Canadians to make Valentines for Vets. VAC then distributes the valentines to Veterans in long-term care facilities across the country by February 14. ❤
If you would like to send a valentine thanking a Veteran, please send it by February 1 to:

We have just a little over a week for our casino Feb 4 - 5.

If the lock downs ease and they re-open facilities and casino we will still have our casino volunteering to complete. If the lock down remains then of course we will be given a new date.

In the meantime - We need to fill these spots in advance, as we have some papers to fill out.
